The Back Story On Sultry 'Wizards of Waverly Place' Starlet Selena Gomez

The newest Disney double threat Selena Gomez got her start on everyone's favorite childhood show. When she was just six years old, Selena and her mother attended an open call for Barney. She revealed:

"I had to stand in line with 1,400 kids and go through different callbacks."

After Barney, Sel booked a few commercials and a small part in Spy Kids 3. At 12, she traveled to Austin, from her hometown of Houston, for a nationwide casting call for the Disney Channel. She said:

"They flew us out to California. It was definitely scary. I was in this room full of executives and I was testing against girls who have done movies."

Selena, now 15, passed the test and has been featured in Hannah Montana, Suite Life of Zack and Cody and the new hit show Wizards of Waverly Place. Currently, she is also doing voice over for Horton Hears A Who with Jim Carrey.

I agree with Kim and Nessa. Selena is a hundred times more gorgeous than Miley, no offence but Miley isn't very attractive.
She also doesn't seem as snooty as Miley - excuse me - as "Miley Ray" does. It sounds like Selena has worked hard to get where she is today. I love WoWP and I wish her the best of luck with her career!

selena is very sweet, GORGEOUS, talented, and just seems really cool.

i never thought miley was talented or pretty, but i def. thought she seemed sweet. but now it seems like fame has gotten to her head and she is a snob now.

i hope something like that will not happen to selena, but i am sure she can handle it.
